Former lead pastor of Travis Park Church, Rev. Claus Hermann Rohlfs, Jr. passed on June 28th. He was a fierce supporter of our unhoused siblings at Corazon Ministries while at Travis Park and continued to support the ministry in retirement. He will be missed, but his legacy remains in every life that is touched by Corazon and all who serve our friends in downtown San Antonio. #restinpower
Due to Claus’ deep love and passion for all that Travis Park Church does to be the hands and feet of Christ, the family is asking that any memoriam gifts be donated to Corazon Ministries. Rev. Claus Hermann Rohlfs, Jr.
4-10-1949 – 6-28-2022
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 9, 2022, at First United Methodist Church, 321 Thompson Dr, Kerrville, TX 78028.
Claus was the Senior Pastor at Travis Park Church from 2008 to 2012. He was particularly honored to serve Travis Park because he had gone there as a child with his grandparents and it is the church where his parents were married.
Claus was a United Methodist Pastor for over 40 years. Claus loved to camp, hike, and hunt – and, even more, he loved helping others experience the outdoors. He loved mission trips, church camp, Walks to Emmaus and Chrysalis, working with youth, having children in the sanctuary, welcoming everyone to church, and he never met a stranger. He was the best father and grandfather, could tell the best story, and gave the best hugs.
What we do
Founded in 1999, Corazon San Antonio operates in the heart of downtown San Antonio serving our homeless and marginalized neighbors by providing a day center and resource hub, medical clinic, harm reduction outreach, housing case management, hot meals, clothing, warm showers, hygiene items, access to recovery groups and spiritual services. We serve over 30,000 hot, nutritious meals per year and rely on over 75 enthusiastic volunteers and 22 staff each week to provide unconditional love and life-giving support to our neighbors.
