The Harm Reduction Center & Outreach is an effort to aid clients that are suffering from drug addiction and other forms of chemical dependencies. The program has built a team of 8 peer support and recovery specialists. As Certified Peer Recovery Coaches, they take pride in their ability to assist those in need by providing guidance into the many pathways of recovery available today. The program will be completely free of charge and is participant-centered that fits the needs of those we serve through needle exchange, harm reduction education, medical care, HIV/HepC testing, case management and recovery coaching. Madelein Santibanez is the director and can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Downtown Street Outreach:
Our downtown street outreach team is a partnership with Centro San Antonio and The City of San Antonio (DHS). Our outreach workers help unhoused clients inside the Public Improvement District and adjacent areas. They can help someone with locating shelter, accessing resources through our day center, offering transportation, navigating social services, connecting with medical care, recovering their identification, applying for different housing options, etc. The team offices at our Travis Park Church campus (230 E. Travis St. San Antonio, TX 78205). Our licensed social worker leads a team of outreach specialists with lived experience to build personal and professional connections with people in need. The team also works alongside the Centro “Quality of Life Ambassadors” who continuously walk the downtown area and assist people who appear to need assistance. Together we are caring for the needs of our unsheltered neighbors and creating “a beautiful, welcoming, and safe downtown for all.”
Corazon Ministries has partnered with Deborah’s House to bring more services to San Antonio. Deborah’s House supports women who have completed an in-patient program for their ongoing recovery from the disease of addiction by providing a safe sober-living home, spiritual mentoring and modeling of life skills for their continued success.
